Dual mode operation in wireless data transfer 2.4-5 GHz has been introduced to allow high rate data communication within network hubs following the traffic to reach.

When accessing to the wireless gateway of local network by means of mobile phone network, the system may be designed to automatically switch between access points to route the signal towards a specific gateway which is capable to connect the WLAN.

The most common application is the one where the router is connected to a WIFI/WIMAX node. An agile way antenna mounting would provide seamlessly dual mode communications. One can mount two antennas using a divider to get high gain for dual side or omnidirectional radiation. This is suitable for hubs mounted in outdoor multiservice station.

Another dual mode antenna beeing developed will provide lateral radiation where the gain is maximum at +/-55°. It is intended to be mounted on horizontal supports.

MCR TELECOMMUNICATION provides high gain dual wideband antennas ALW17330D with optional symmetrical lateral radiation.
